We hope you enjoy episode #18 of our Australian Basketball History series - an in-depth interview with Craig Trewartha from the Adelaide Masters Basketball Club. Ahead of the 2024 Pan Pacific Masters Games on The Gold Coast, we were keen to profile another iconic club who will be competing in multiple age groups

The Adelaide Masters basketball Club Craig Trewartha founded the Adelaide Masters Basketball Club in 1971, and it has grown to be one of the most successful clubs in Masters basketball in Australia. Craig talks about the origins of Adelaide Masters, the original players that formed the club, and the great players and tournaments along the way. Over a decade ago, Craig pioneered the establishment of weekly masters competitions in Adelaide at Wayville Stadium. Today, Adelaide remains the only capital city in Australia which has a weekly over 50's, over 60's and over 70's competition. Craig is an organiser; a player; a financial counsellor; a volunteer tour guide at Adelaide Football Ground; an Australian Rules umpire (and coach); and a property consultant. He trains basketball every day, and fills each week with runs, sprints, yoga, and weight sessions. Above all, Craig is an articulate and inspiring storyteller.
